The Ogden Temple is special to our family because it used to be our temple district, even though we live in Lander, Wyoming! It was five hours away, but it was the temple that made the most sense for our stake to be a part of. I attended the Ogden Temple back when it looked like a "birthday cake," and then was very privileged to be part of the Cultural Celebration and the dedication when the newly remodeled Ogden Utah Temple was opened in 2014. Our stake presidency asked me to teach the youth in our stake the songs and choreography for the Cultural Celebration of the Ogden Temple. We met on Sunday nights and worked on the songs and choreography and then we all attended the Cultural Celebration together. An article about the celebration, Shine the Light, can be found here:

Ogden Utah Temple Cultural Celebration

Our family was blessed to be seated inside the Ogden Temple, in one of the sealing rooms, for the dedication of this beautiful new building after its renovation in 2014. That was such a special experience for us to have our family there all together in the temple. I have attended this temple many times. My children have attended this temple on family and ward temple trips. Years ago we brought our primary to the Ogden Temple and ate a picnic on the lawn, each child getting a turn to touch the outside of the temple. We talked to them about how special the temple is and about the day that they will one day be able to go inside!

I haven't ever stayed at a hotel in Ogden, because we have lots of family close-by to stay with. But if you are traveling to the Ogden Temple, take a little detour to Roy and try out the Burger Bar. It is one of our family's highlights when visiting this temple! The Ogden Temple is located at 350 22nd Street in Ogden. It was re-dedicated in 2014. It was my 16th temple.
