June 2018

The Philadelphia Temple is amazing!  It is located at 1739 Vine St.  I called the Philadelphia Temple to ask what hotel we should stay at, and they recommended the Sheraton Philadelphia.  which is located at 201 N 17th St.  Little did we know, until we checked into our hotel room, that we had the most beautiful view of the temple from our hotel window!  We had no idea that we were that close to the temple, but we were just amazed to open our curtains and see the beautiful view of the temple.  Our son James had recently received his endowment, so we were blessed to do an endowment session there.  The temple is beautiful inside and outside!

The Trip

Our son James earned the Congressional Award for Youth.  He received the award at a national ceremony in Washington DC.  Originally I wanted to go to the Washington DC Temple while we were there, but it was closed for renovation.  So I checked into how close the Philadelphia Temple was from Washington DC.  We purchased our plane tickets to fly into Philadelphia instead of DC and bought train tickets between the two cities.  Philadelphia was so much fun!  I love history, so I loved everywhere we visited while in Philadelphia, including the Liberty Bell, eating cheesesteak, running down the "Rocky Steps," and visiting Independence Hall.  We only had one day there, so we crammed as much as we could into one day!
