February 2017, our first trip to the Fort Collins Temple |
We are blessed to live only four hours away from the Fort Collins Temple, so we have been there many times. It's possible for us to drive there and back in one day, but usually we attend this temple when we're in Laramie or Cheyenne for our kids' sporting events. We were able to attend the open house of the Fort Collins Temple in September 2016. It was dedicated in October of 2016. Then, the first time we attended to perform temple work was in February of 2017. I remember that we did initiatories that day, because I heard the temple workers talking about a fire raging outside the temple grounds. When we finished and went outside, I saw what they were talking about! There was a fire in the field right beside the parking lot of the temple. Thankfully the temple was not harmed at all! Since that time, we have been to the Fort Collins Temple many times. The temple is beautiful inside and out! I especially love the dark wood. It reminds me of the Provo City Center temple.

A 2023 trip to the Fort Collins Temple:
In 2023 before our daughter Rebecca's mission we visited the Fort Collins Temple to do the work for a family - a father, mother, and daughter, all the way from baptism through sealing. The temple workers were so kind and accommodating, they helped us every step of the way! One of the workers mentioned to James when he picked up his name after it was recorded for one of the ordinances, "this is a very good day for him!"
